Jeffrey Nugent, President, CEO, Ventus Medical
Jeff joined Ventus Medical in May 2007 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Jeff has held a number of senior management positions within Johnson & Johnson for over 20 years in R&D, Operations, Marketing and Finance. He served as Worldwide President and CEO of Neutrogena from the time of its acquisition through the first five years of its considerable growth as a global leader in professionally recommended skin care. Jeff was also President and CEO of Revlon from 1999 to 2002. Jeff was involved with the successful purchase of the OTC drug company Insight Pharmaceuticals where he served as President and CEO. Jeff was an Operations Research/Intelligence officer for the US Army and has a BS in Mathematics from St. Joseph’s College and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. Rajiv Doshi, MD, Founder, Ventus Medical
Rajiv invented the core technology and founded Ventus Medical in October 2005. Rajiv served as President and CEO of Ventus Medical through May 2007. Rajiv is a Consulting Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. Previously, Rajiv was a Principal at De Novo Ventures. Rajiv is the inventor on over 25 pending and issued patents. Rajiv earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MSE in Biomechanical Engineering from the Stanford School of Engineering. Rajiv also earned an MD from the Stanford University School of Medicine where he was a Soros Fellow. Michael Goldberg, Partner, Mohr Davidow Ventures
Michael joined Mohr Davidow Ventures in 2005 and leads investments in molecular diagnostics, personalized medicine and wireless healthcare. Previously, he was Managing Director of Jasper Capital and Co-chair of the California Research and Cures Coalition. He was also Chairman and CEO of OnCare, an oncology services company he founded in 1995. Prior to that he founded and was CEO of Axion Inc. which he later sold to Bristol-Myers Squibb (1996). He was Director of Corporate Development at Cetus Corporation (Novartis), one of the first biotech companies and developer of PCR technology. He is on the advisory councils of the Harvard Center for Genetics and Genomics and the Stanford Neuroscience Institute. Michael received his BA from Brandeis University and MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Pat Lonergan, President, CEO, Numark Laboratories
Pat is currently Co-Founder, President and CEO of Numark Laboratories, owning 28 OTC Health and Beauty Care brands. He is Vice Chairman of the Consumer Health Care Products Association, on the Board of Directors of Prestige Brand Holdings and Chairman of the Compensation Committee. He is past Business Chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, and the National Wholesale Druggists’ Association Industry Development Committee and is currently on the boards of several private OTC companies. Until 1989, Pat spent over thirty years at Johnson & Johnson where he was Vice President and General Manager of both the Baby Products Company and the Domestic Operating Company. Pat received a BS in Business from Northern Illinois University. David Mauney, MD, Managing Director, De Novo Ventures
David is a co-founder and Managing Director of De Novo. Previously, he was a Partner at Asset Management Company, where he worked with Pitch Johnson in healthcare investments. At Asset Management, he led seed and early stage investments in TriVascular (acquired by Boston Scientific), Novare Surgical Systems (licensed to Johnson & Johnson), and Enteric Medical Technologies (acquired by Boston Scientific). David was the first Director of Business Development for FoxHollow Technologies (Nasdaq: EVVV). He earned his MD degree from The Dartmouth School of Medicine and a BA from Duke University. David also sits on the boards of Applied Spine, Simpirica, Spectragenics, and VeinRx. Jay Watkins, Managing Director, De Novo Ventures
Jay is a Managing Director at De Novo Ventures. Prior to this, Jay was a co-founder of Origin Medsystems, a venture-funded medical technology start-up that was purchased by Eli Lilly & Company in 1992. He then served on the management committee of Guidant from 1995-2002. Additionally, Jay was the President of Compass, Guidant Corporation’s corporate business development and new ventures group. He has been on the Board of several public companies, including Gynecare, Cardiogenesis, and Rita Medical. Jay received his MBA from Harvard University and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. Jay also sits on the boards of EBR Systems, PhotoThera, Pulmonx, Sierra Surgical, and Synergeyes.
