Peter Wyles, President and CEO

Peter joined Ventus Medical as President and CEO in June 2010. He brings to the company broad general management experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumer health. Prior to joining Ventus Medical, Peter was most recently with Bayer Healthcare for 15 years where he led consumer, pharmaceutical and medical device businesses in Germany, Japan, Canada and the U.S. More recently, he led the global expansion and integration of Metrika, a former start-up in the diabetes space that was acquired by Bayer HealthCare in 2006. Peter is a graduate of Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he earned his MBA in and Pennsylvania State University, where he earned his BA. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he had assignments Moscow, Russia, Pretoria, South Africa and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Philip Westbrook, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Philip is regarded as one of the pioneers in the field of sleep medicine and is the recipient of the 2009 National Sleep Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. Philip served as President of the American Sleep Disorders Association and a member of the Board of Directors and Standards of Practice Committee and was acknowledged by the ASDA with a Distinguished Service Award. Philip has presented over 100 guest lectures to professional organizations, was Editor-in-Chief of the Sleep Medicine Review, an editor for Sleep, a guest reviewer for Chest and an Ad Hoc reviewer for The New England Journal of Medicine. He is an emeritus faculty member of the Mayo Medical School (associate professor) and the UCLA School of Medicine (professor). Philip was the founding Director of the Sleep Disorder Centers at the Mayo Clinic and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Philip earned a BS and MD from Stanford University.

Rajiv Doshi, MD, Founder

Rajiv invented the core technology and founded Ventus Medical. Rajiv is a Consulting Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. Rajiv also serves as the Executive Director (US) of Stanford-India Biodesign, a Government of India supported program to promote medical technology industry growth in India. Previously, Rajiv was a Principal at De Novo Ventures. He is the inventor on over 30 pending and issued patents. Rajiv serves on the Medical Advisory Board of Lunar Design and serves as an advisor to multiple early stage medical technology companies in the United States and India. Rajiv earned a BS in Chemical Engineering, an MSE in Biomechanical Engineering and an MD from Stanford University.

Mike Favet, SVP Science, Technology and Operations

Mike brings over 17 years of medical device R&D, clinical, and operations experience to his role at Ventus Medical. Prior to joining Ventus Medical in September 2008, Mike was Vice President of R&D for Maquet Cardiovascular. Prior to that, Mike was a Vice President for Boston Scientific’s Cardiac Surgery Division where he had responsibility for R&D, business development and general management of Surgical Ablation. Mike spent a significant portion of his career with Guidant serving as the Vice President of R&D and Operations for the Cardiac Surgery Division and in several roles with the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division including Director of Product Development and in other management, clinical, and engineering capacities. Mike earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

Glenn Johnson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Glenn Johnson joined Ventus Medical in November 2009 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He brings over 27 years of expertise in sales and marketing strategy. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of the Strategic Customer Group at LifeScan, Inc., where he led the Sales and Marketing function for key customers, including those in Retail, Wholesale, Managed Care, Mail Order, and Government. In addition, Glenn served as Business Director for Johnson and Johnson Health Care Systems, responsible for the integration of the account management and business processes for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. Glenn also held management positions in sales and marketing at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, inc. and drove the development and execution of sales strategies related to in-vitro diagnostics. Glenn earned a BS in Finance at the University of Delaware.

John Fraboni, Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain

John joined Ventus Medical in July of 2008 as Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain. Prior to joining Ventus Medical, John was Senior Director of Supply Chain at FoxHollow Technologies. Prior to joining FoxHollow, John held various operations and supply chain management roles at Novacept, Cytyc, RITA Medical, Avocet Medical and LifeScan (Johnson & Johnson). He also consulted for many medical device companies in the areas of system implementation, process improvement and ISO/FDA compliance. John holds a BS in Industrial Management from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Connie Rey, Senior Director of Clinical Affairs

Connie brings nearly 18 years of clinical operations experience to Ventus Medical, including implementation of pre-clinical, Phase I, II, III and post-marketing clinical trials in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Canada to support PMA, 510(k), and CE Marking filings. Prior to joining Ventus Medical in April 2008, Connie served as Director of Clinical Operations at Kyphon, Inc. where she had oversight for building out a full-service clinical operations department. Connie was previously the Director of Clinical Operations at Conceptus where she had an extended overseas assignment in Germany while leading a multi-center European trial. Connie began her career at SyStemix, a biotechnology firm developing stem cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. Connie earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
